How’d They Do That is a wacky show segment where an actor, playing a character called Professer Fritz, explains some of the most technical principles behind the game of football to a viewing audience of tweenagers. The spasmodic character is shot on green screen, keyed into a virtual warehouse/lab then layered with graphics and typography.
The opening title mimics the process of unfolding a somewhat abstract concept, breaking it apart for examination and reforming it as an understandable idea. Zero gravity, exploding fragments and controlled orbits were used as a nod to the scientific principles that anchor the show’s content.
